LYRICS

Staring out looking over the ocean
as the ships sail out to sea
Tears fall to the earth and turn to dust
as prayers get lost in the breeze
With the tide, he was gone
leaving her with nothing but the will to go on
He sees her face in the ocean mist
Holding onto memories and a goodbye kiss

Hold on
In a blink of an eye, everything's gone
Hold on
Sail the tide,
Ride on the edge of the Storm

The fire burns and the days get longer
as she sits under the tree
There he carved her name and asked for her trust
and swore he'd return from the seas
Candles burn through the night
she sees his image in the flickering light
Some day they'll be over this
Holding onto memories of a goodbye kiss

Hold on
In a blink of an eye, everything's gone
Hold on
Sail the tide, Ride on the edge of the Storm

Edge Of The Storm

The title track of the album. It was written to set up the concept for the band. One of many reasons why we chose the 'Steampunk' look. A cross between old and new. The classical piece in the introduction has a Celtic feel and written to stimulate the visualisation of the album cover. Somewhere in that ship is our hero sailing away to distant lands in the hope of finding fortune so he can provide for the love of his life.

The song itself speaks of days gone past when people's needs were much simpler with the only requirement for a fulfilling life was the love, support and commitment of another. Even though by today's standard, this sort of thing seems way too simple and hollow, to our song's characters, it's everything.

Here's the metaphor is this; appreciate what you have, no matter how ridiculous or insignificant it might be to others because one day it will be gone, 'in a blink of an eye'.

A piece of trivia - On the album cover there are two items in the water that have fallen off the ship. During the picture production process we lost some detail and those items became unclear.
On the ship's starboard (right) is a cello.
On the ship's port stern (left/rear) is Frank's actual Explorer guitar.
